These Terms of Use govern your use of the Northstar iOS app (“the App”), published by Frederik Dengler (“we”, “us”, “the developer”).

Accepting these terms

By downloading or using Northstar, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

What Northstar is

Northstar is a free iOS app that helps you formulate and track SMART goals. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases.

Your content

Northstar stores everything you type — goals, notes, progress — locally on your device. We never see your content. You are responsible for what you store in the App.

You can export your content at any time (Settings → Export all data) and delete it permanently (Settings → Delete all data).

What the App does not do

• Northstar does not collect personal data.
• Northstar does not share your content with third parties.
• Northstar does not connect to the internet in this version (V1.0).
• Northstar does not contain advertising.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Goal-setting is a personal practice. Northstar is a tool to support that practice — results depend on you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App or inability to use it.

Our total liability for any claim related to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App. Because the App is free, that amount is zero.

App Store terms

Northstar is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple’s App Store Terms and Conditions. In any conflict between these terms and Apple’s terms, Apple’s terms take precedence for matters Apple governs (distribution, billing, device compatibility).

Changes to these terms

If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in Germany.
